Rly minister launches safety app
Mumbai

Railway minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated a mobile application for women commuters recently. The app does not require a GPS or internet. “Immediate help can be sought from RPF [Railway Protection Force] while travelling,“ a spokesperson of the Western Railway said. “The app will help identify the location of the compartment as soon as the help is sought.“
The safety app can be accessed through m-indicator app. In safety uysettings, the user can save the contacts number of the person who can come for immediate help.
Ironing out snags
Railway minister Suresh Prabhu on Friday announced the setting up of a special task force to look into the recurring technical defects on the suburban network. The minister assured a group of rail activists in Thane that timebound initiatives would be taken to improve the suburban lifeline. He said he was exploring ways to bring more funds for the purpose.
