Senior citizen pushed off Kasara local
Kalyan

A youth pushed a senior citizen off a Kasara fast train on Friday between Dombivli and Thakurli stations after he complained to a cop about the youngster's misbehaviour. Nandkumar Joshi (60), who suffered serious injuries, is being treated at a private hospital here. Joshi, who works as a peon in the Thane court and resides in Maharal village, has high blood pressure and diabetes. He had boarded the compartment reserved for the handicapped at Thane station. GRP officials said Joshi was near the footboard, where some luggage that was placed had inconvenienced him. Joshi's daughter told TOI, “My father told the man who had kept the luggage to move it one side as it was hurting his legs. But the man got into an argument and abused him. The policeman in the compartment intervened, but he abused and manhandled him too.“ The family said the cop overpowered Azad Alam (20), but after some time when released, he vented his anger on Joshi. Alam was handed over to the Dombivli GRP .
